Cedar Run Water Slide! Very fun and refreshing..

WOC Trail swimming hole. Are you brave enough?

Circuit: We go up WOC trail to the AT, detour onto Limberlost (right), Old Rag Fireroad, and Bridle Trail, to Skyland and lunch, turn back south on AT to Salamander Trail and Hawksbill summit, then down Cedar Run to the parking lot.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous Cedar Run and White Oak Canyon trails and falls! I like to stop for a brief swim, once along the White Oak trail, and once at the Cedar Run water slide. Well also detour over to Skyland to eat our lunch, grab some coffee and ice cream, and use the restrooms.

A word of cautionCedar Run is very steep the whole way up, and just when you think youre at the top, youre not: You still have an even steeper hike up to the highest point in SNP, Hawksbill. You must be fit and ready for the challenge!

This hike is only suitable for experienced hikers who have hiked similar distances and elevation gains. If I have not been on an A-rated hike with you before, please message me so that we can together determine if this hike is right for you.

As always, you'll need sturdy hiking boots or trail runners and adequate water or sports drink. Don't forget to bring the map, an extra pair of dry socks, sun and bug protection, food/snacks, and rain gear (depending).

Plan to be at Centreville at 6:30 to sign in and organize into carpools. We leave from the Centreville parking lot at 6:45 a.m. sharp, so if youre running late and/or have to meet us at the trailhead, please call or text me to let me know.

Looking forward to a great hike! Any questions? Message or text me!
