Winter Wellness Walk and Mood Boost!
10 am to noon, Saturday, February 10 & February 24

When the deep freeze lifts, it's time to get outside! Come strap on a pair of snowshoes and join in a special winter walk through the forested trails of the Gaia Wellness Retreat. Certified Forest Therapy Guide Andrea Prazmowski will lead the group through a sequence of activities to quiet the mind, awaken the senses, and open up to the forest medicine. First time on snowshoes? No worries. We cover a short distance on the trail; we move slowly and pause often to look around, notice, and be fully aware of the forest surroundings. We will have an outdoor fire to return to, and afterwards you can stay by the fire or move inside for vegan hot chocolate, vegan snacks, and other hot drinks.

A Forest Wellness Walk has been shown to have many therapeutic benefits, including reducing stress levels, enhancing the immune system and lifting our spirits.

Afterwards, you're welcome to continue exploring the breathtaking hills and trails of Gaia Wellness Centre on your own. Consider making a day of it and continuing on to Wakefield for lunch or to Lac des Loups and the ice-skating trail there! (https://www.patinageenforet.com/)

Cost: $25 if you bring your own snowshoes; add $5 for snowshoe rental

Thrapie forestire/Promenade hivernale pour remonter le moral!

De 10 h midi, le samedi 10 fevrier & 24 fevrier

Lorsque le gel lche prise, cest le temps de sortir! Enfilez une paire de raquettes et participez une marche hivernale travers les sentiers boiss du Gaia Wellness Retreat. Andrea Prazmowski guidera le groupe travers une srie d'activits pour calmer l'esprit, veiller les sens et dcouvrir la mdecine forestire. Premire fois en raquettes? Pas de soucis. Nous couvrons une courte distance sur le sentier car nous nous dplaons lentement en faisant souvent des pauses pour examiner les alentours, remarquer et tre pleinement conscients de la fort. Il y aura un feu de camp suite notre randonne et vous pouvez rester prs du feu ou vous dplacer l'intrieur pour le chocolat chaud vgtalien ou boissons chaudes et les collations vgtaliennes.

Il a t dmontr qu'une promenade bien-tre dans la fort prsente de nombreux avantages thrapeutiques, notamment en rduisant le niveau de stress, en amliorant le systme immunitaire et en amliorant notre moral.
Suite lactivit, on vous invite continuer dexplorer les collines et les sentiers couper le souffle chez Gaia Wellness Retreat, continuer jusqu' Wakefield pour le dner ou vous rendre sur le sentier de patinage sur glace au lac des Loups! (https://www.patinageenforet.com/)
