What we'll do
Hike the beautiful trails and see great vistas of WildCat Canyon Regional Park. This is a great sunny day hike with 3 hills and great views of The Bay, from Emeryville and The City to Richmond and Carquinas Bridges and some of Orinda/Martinez. This is an 7 mile loop, 1400 feet elevation gain hike where we will complete all our uphill climbs in the first 1/3 of our hike. Starting from the Trailhead at the end of the staging area we head out on the Wildcat Creek trail and turn up the Belgum Trail, past the old Sanitarium to join the Wildcat Ridge trail (also the historic San Juan Bautista trail) for 1.5 miles over 3 hills and into Tilden Park. Joining Tilden's Nimitz Way ridge line paved walk for .5 miles and turn down Harvey Canyon trail, watch for poison oak and its a shady covered walk down to the Wildcat Creek trail which we will take to get back to our cars. That's the adventure!
We will stop at the top of the hills to catch our breath and take a water & snack break at the Nike missile area. No water or bathrooms on this hike.
This is a great open space hike with cows and great ridge line views on sunny days. Almost always breezy so it keeps you cool and comfortable. A great spot for great views and hiking in the East Bay.
See you there!

What to bring
1-2 liters water - there are no watering places on the hike
Snack
Sturdy hiking boots or shoes - it can get very muddy
Warm layer/jacket - can be very blustery on the ridge trails
Long pants - poison oak on Havey Canyon & creek trails

Important to know
Rain will cancel hike

How to find us:Park inside the staging area as close to the top as possible. We meet at the gate to the trails
