Weather affects almost everything we do and conditions can change quickly in the desert. Reid Wolcott from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association will explain weather patterns in our corner of the Mojave Desert. Join us to learn about summer heat waves, winter mountain snowstorms and the thunderstorms of the North American Monsoon.
Originally from the Seattle area, Reid has a Masters degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Washington. After working as a student volunteer with NWS Seattle, Reid officially started his National Weather Service career in 2010 as an Intern in Riverton, WY. He then moved to Las Vegas in 2012 as a General Forecaster and was promoted to Senior Meteorologist in 2016. His hobbies include hiking in the greater Las Vegas region and spending time with his wife and 3-month old son.
