We will meet at the El Camino del Cerro Park, AKA, Chris Columbus Park ballparks. Meet at 8:45AM, wheels rolling at 9AM. Bring extra food and water, as it might be a warm day. This is a C- to C paced (10-14 mph rolling average) ride. End of ride speed will be close to 12mph. This is a social ride with conversation and regroupings. We will not drop anyone.

We will travel south along the Santa Cruz path and exit on Congress. A brief jaunt west brings us to Mercado San Agustin (http://mercadosanagustin.com) where we will stop for a short spell to grab a cold drink, coffee or whatever suits your fancy. I typically load up a bag or three of tortillas from La Estrella Bakery (http://laestrellabakeryincaz.com), but the pastries are incredible, as well.

From Mercado, we head west to the base of "A Mountain" and pedal up beautiful Anklam Road, into the Tucson Mountains. From Anklam, we will ride to the Starr Pass resort and back to Anklam. We will finish a short climb and make a wonderful descent down Anklam, El Camino de Oeste and Sweetwater, back to our starting point. I plan to regroup along the ascent of Anklam, at the resort, and again at Feliz Paseos Park. Feliz Paseos Park has a restroom, water and shade.

Here is a route map: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/20545024

Elevation gain is ~850'. Again, this is Not a Fast Ride. Riders that wish to hammer ahead should know the route. My phone/text number, if you are going to be a few minutes late, or need to reach me for any reason, is[masked]-4556. My name is Dave Purwin.

Bring:

Appropriate food & fluids for about 3 hours.
Bring a tube and a way to inflate it. Make sure your bike is in good mechanical condition to start the ride.
Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. No ear buds! This is a requirement and not a request.
Obey traffic laws and remember you are a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road. Please represent GABA well.
