Wilton Manors signature event, theWilton ManorsStonewallParade&Festival: Greater Ft Lauderdale's Largest LGBT Event, will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
The Marketplace and festival will open at 3:00 pm, with a parade starting at 4:00 pm on Wilton Drive. There will be entertainment on stages throughout the day.
This is a community-wide event that draws a diverse crowd of approximately 30,000individuals and families each year, states Gary Resnick, Mayor of Wilton Manors. Theparade, street vendors, and live performances really offer something for everyone and weare just so thrilled to be hosting this celebration for the 19th consecutive year.
The festival is held in honor of the Stonewall riots. Tired of harassment from the NewYork Police Department, the citys gay community staged a series of violentdemonstrations on June 27, 1969. Each year, gay communities across the country holdevents to honor the Stonewall riots,which was the beginning of the gay rights movement in the United States.

Stonewall Volunteers will be provided a volunteer shirt and will work at least one shift, although more shifts are encouraged & appreciated.
Food and beverages will be provided for volunteers at the Command Center for our volunteers throughout the day and evening.
