VIPKid Journey tickets go on sale at12 pm PST on Thursday, 9/12/19.The cost is $70* for a full day of programmingon 11/9/19, coffee and bagels in the morning, and lunch at the conference. Your ticket gives you access to an optional Friday night (11/8/19) Welcome Activity. More details to come.
There are 600 tickets available for this event. If you are unable to secure a ticket, please add yourself to the waitlist and we will reach out if a ticket becomes available.
*Please do not book non-refundable travel to DC before you secure a ticket, we cannot allow admission to the conference without a ticket.Please note all official conference activities are for VIPKid Teachers only.If you visit DC with your family, please ensure proper child-care arrangements in advance.
What is the cost and how many tickets are available?The cost to attend Journey is $70. This cost coversa full day of programming on November 9th, coffee and bagels in the morning, and lunch at the conference. Your ticket will also include an optional Welcome Activity on Friday, November 8th (6:00 PM, details TBA). Additionally, we will have a Swag Store set up with discounted items available!
How many tickets can I purchase?Due to high demand, tickets are limited to one (1) per VIPKid Teacher.There are 600 tickets available.
Who can attend this event?This event is for VIPKid teachers only. We are unable toaccommodate additional guests or children and infants at official Journey programming (during the Friday activity and all day Saturday). Thank you for your understanding.
Where does Journey take place?Journey will take place at the Washington Marriott Wardman Parkatthe onsite conference center. This hotel is located near the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan metro and many popular sites in DC. All Saturday conference activities will take place at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. If you are staying offsite, please make separate transportation arrangements. VIPKid does not pay for transportation or parking costs for Journey.
Transportation + Lodging:
Flying.TheWashington Marriott Wardman Parkis 30 miles (40-min drive) from Dulles Airport. The estimated taxi fare is $60 one-way.Reagan National airport is slightly closer (7 miles/20-minute drive) and the estimated taxi fare is $30 one-way. You can also fly into Baltimore Airport 40 miles (1-hour drive). It is possible to take public transportation from the airport toWoodley-Park Zoo Metro Station near the hotel, but there is no direct route and it will require a transfer on the metro.
Parking.Parking at theWashington Marriott Wardman Parkis not included in your ticket price.The Hotel will extend the following discount for Hotels 2019 overnight parking prices: Self-parking, fee: $39.00 per day (reduced from $48.00 per day). The Hotel will extend the following discount for Hotels 2019 day parking prices: Self-parking, fee: $31.00 per day (reduced from $38.00 per day). Given the high price of parking in DC, we encourage folks to take public transportation or carpool. You can also use off-site parking services likehttps://spothero.com/to find better pricing.
Can I volunteer at Journey?At this time, we are not accepting applications for volunteers. Priority for volunteer spots is given to local VIPKid teachers who are Local Leaders and we will be reaching out to those folks individually. If we need additional volunteers, you will be notified via the Hutong.
Can I speak at Journey?Please keep an eye out in the Hutong for instructions on how to submit a proposal to become a teacher speaker.

These rooms will be available until we fill our block or until October 25th. When tickets go on sale, the link to the room block will be updated here. Please note that the hotel is NOT currently available on Thursday, November 7 due to another conference. If you include Thursday night in your search, you will not get any results. Who will be speaking at Journey?A full speaker lineup will be released in October, but get excited to hear from VIPKid Founders, US and China office staff, other VIPKid teachers, and thought leaders in education. If you are interested in applying to be a speaker, please check the Hutong for more details after Thursday, September 12th.
What are my dining options?Your ticket includes coffee and bagels in the morning and lunch on Saturday, November 9th. We will have gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options. There are many dining options within walking distance of the Marriott as well.
Do you haveaccommodations for nursing mothers?We secure a mother's wellness room at all of our events toaccommodate moms.Unfortunately, we cannot allow infants into the conference so please plan to have support.
What should I wear to Journey?The dress is conference casual! Orange is always in style with VIPKid. Show your VIPKid spirit! There might even be a prize for most spirited dress.
