BEEBEWEEK ONE: July 6-10, 2020

MORNING SESSION(8am-12pm) -What on EARTH?! - Nature Camp

Cost: $80

Campers will explore the great outdoors and learn about Arkansas rich local flora and fauna in this science-based camp. This camp will provide the opportunity to collect water and field samples to bring back to the lab for examination under a microscope.The focus of this camp will be on the environment, recycling, and local ecology. Recommended for 4th 8th grade

AFTERNOON SESSION(1pm-5pm) - "Lights, Camera, ACTION!"

Cost: $80

Theatre Camp offers a performance program for aspiring performers that allows campers the opportunity to explore the world of theater! Campers have the opportunity to delve into different character roles and to explore different works of literature by playing games in a fun and creative environment. The camp will culminate in students performing a readers theatre based on common childrens storybooks for family at the closing ceremony. Recommended for 6th 10th grade campers.

BEEBE WEEK TWO: July 13-17, 2020

MORNING SESSION(8am-12pm) - Pet VET

Cost: $80

Do you have a love for animals and ever wondered what it would be like to care for them? Campers participating in this camp will learn practical duties and responsibilities of Veterinary Technicians and experience an inside look at the world of veterinary medicine. For those excited by science, enjoy working with animals and interested in becoming a veterinarian or veterinary technician, this program is just the ticket! Aspiring veterinary healthcare professionals will experience first-hand the fascinating world of veterinary medicine. Recommended for 6th 10th grade campers.

MORNING SESSION(8am-12pm) - SmARTCamp

Cost: $80

Are you a fan of Minecraft? Do you like drawing? If yes to either one of these then you will want to try and build objects on paper.This course will introduce the technique of building objects, building spaces throughthe technique first created in the Renaissance. Participants will learn to draw boxes, cylinders, and place them in a world of their design.This course will give you the opportunity to draw faces as well.Students will have a chance to draw a live model's face for reference. If time allows they can also learn more techniques like caricature.Recommended for 4th 8th grade

AFTERNOON SESSION(1pm-5pm) -VDC Police Academy

Cost: $80

Ever wondered Who done it? Be introduced to the world of forensic science and take a behind-the-scenes look at criminal investigations and uncover a series of "who done it" combining chemistry and forensic techniques. Campers learn the importance of collecting bits of evidence that can help prove if someone is guilty or innocent. Using scientific principals and hands-on techniques, campers conduct experiments dealing with DNA, hair analysis, fingerprinting, impressions, casting, drugs and fluid spatter. Campershave the opportunity to meet and learn from seasoned professionals that make up a forensic teampolice officers, detectives, coroner, search and rescue teams and their animals. Recommended for 4th 8th grade.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Drop-off time for morning session is 7:45am-8:00am, pick-up time is 12:00pm-12:15pmDrop-off time for afternoon session is 12:45pm-1:00pm, pick-up time is 5:00pm-5:15pmSnacks and drinks will be provided during morning and afternoon sessionsIf your child would like to attend BOTH sessions, they may bring a sack lunch and eat in the University Cafe. Staff members will be present to supervise campers who stay for lunch.

7:45am- 8:00am- Drop-off/Check-in

8:00am - 9:30am - Instruction Time

9:30am - 9:45am - Snack

9:45am - 10:00am - Recreation (outdoor, weather permitting)

10:00am - 12:00pm - Instruction Time

12:00pm - 12:15pm - Pick-up

1:00pm - 2:30pm - Instruction Time
