Chocolate is one of the more impressive and elaborate-seeming products that a chef can master. Though it may appear to be difficult and precise work, chocolate making is an easy skill to learn. This workshop is aimed at helping participants develop the skills to confidently work with chocolate and even make their own at home. For a Valentine's day twist, we'll be making cherry cordials and nutella inspired chocolate hazelnut truffles. Join us for an afternoon of fun and leave with something to share with your sweet Valentine.

On the Menu:

  • Nutella inspired- Chocolate Hazelnut Truffles

What to Expect: Great cooking is all about technique. In this class you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by professional foodies.

  • Hands-on classes are limited to 16 students.
  • You will be standing, cooking, and working for most of the class.
  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back.
  • YES, you will get to eat what you cook!

Who Should Attend? Anyone interested in learning more about chocolate.

About the Instructor. Juli Bierwirth is a dietitian and food consultant based in Athens, GA. She caught the cooking bug during childhood and has gone on to teach cooking and baking classes for Carnegie Mellon University and Williams-Sonoma. She finished her masters degree in human nutrition from Johns Hopkins University, after which she worked for Sensory Spectrum, a food analysis company, tasting foods for some of the largest companies in America. Juli has 6 years of food science research experience and she currently teaches, writes, and consults for 1000 Faces Coffee, a local coffee producer, and works as a consultant for other food companies around the world.
