Interested in helping to keep our Superior National Forest hiking trails open? We welcome you to this opportunity to become a US Forest Service certified chain saw sawyer. It's fun, it's good exercise, and it gives you great self satisfaction for having given something back to the trails that we all love.

We invite you to sign up for the 2018 USFS chain saw certification required for those using chain saws on federal and state properties such as the non-wilderness portions of the Border Route, Kekekabic, Superior Hiking, etc. trails.

Please note the venue change. This year it'll be held at Rum River North County Park, 23100 Rum River Blvd. NW, St. Francis, MN. The entrance to the park is immediately west of the high school with the building for the morning class being straight west near the river. The afternoon outside training session will be at Lake George Regional Park,[masked]th Ave NW, Oak Grove, MN. (I'll ask the coordinator to provide better details on how to get to the two locations.)

Trail volunteers only please. A first aid certificate with CPR is also required to get certified, but may be submitted after this class. Rebates on First Aid classes are available for dues paid members of the BRTA and MN Rovers.

To register, the USFS requires that you provide your 1st and last name, email address, and mailing address to the registrar, John Elliott, at [masked],[masked], or by scrolling down and answering the the question below.

Those RSVPing Yes via Meetup without providing their contact information will not get a spot !!
