This workshop will teach core computing skills to help researchers be more productive and effective. The workshop will alternate short tutorials and hands-on practical exercises to introduce paraticipants to

  • Automating repetitive tasks using Unix
  • Improving reproducibility of analyses programming in Python/Jupyter Notebook
  • Tracking, managing & sharing data/analyses using git/GitHub

The workshop targets novice users. Priority goes to practicing researchers - postdocs, graduate students, and other researchers. Undergraduate students can be admitted upon special request.

The workshop takes place on a weekend; workshop hours are 8:30 AM-5:00 PM on both days.

Participants are required to bring their own laptop.
