This is a less-busy hike in RMNP with no fees to park. It is moderately difficult and has gorgeous views of Longs Peak, up close and personal. The elevation is 11,428 feet and the gain on the hike is around 2500 feet, with a total distance of a little over 7 miles.
Trailhead details: Turn left (east) at the old Lily Lake Visitor Center (across the highway from Lily Lake), bypass the visitor center (now closed), and continue up the gravel road for less than a half-mile to reach the parking area just below a fence blocking the road.
Carpool: If you want to carpool, comment below and we can organize it.
After we finish the hike, we can get lunch someplace.
