Endorsed by Curators:
Please join the members of the Troup County Racial Trustbuilding Initiative for our bi-monthly breakfast meeting. This is a time for those who have participated in ourLevel 1 & 2 sessions to go deeper into discussions around race, reconciliation and community building. Often, we welcome subject matter experts who are able to guide our conversations and leave us with meaningful insights.
You can visit the Events page on our website to learn more about locations and guest speakers. We do ask that you confirm as early as possible so that we can begin planning for food and venue setup.
Who can attend the Trustbuilding Breakfast?
In short, the breakfast is open to anyone!
Our target audience is those who have attended our introductory training session (aka Level 1), or guests of past attendees. This is because members of the Troup County Racial Trustbuilding Initiative are aware of our philosophy and framework for having challenging conversations. Since we are on a schedule, we want to ensure that the presentation stays on track and that group participants are able to apply thier learning with limited opportunity for interruption.
Anyone who is interested in attending a breakfast that has not participated as a Level 1 attendee may send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and request an invitation.
What topics have you discussed in the past?
Our group has been meeting since 2015 and we have facilitated eye opening discussions around implicit bias, soical justice, poverty, criminal justice reform, cultural competence and education, among others.
