New Directions Counseling & Consulting is hold a 1-day event for 8 hours of CE credit in working with the diverse populations of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender individuals in the first half of the day. The second half of the day, we will focus on alternative lifestyles including the polyamorous and BDSM (Bondage, Domination, Sadomasochist) communities.
Renee Hill, Psy. D.- Dr. Renee Hill received her doctorate in psychology from Nova Southeastern University, and is a licensed clinical psychologist with an emphasis in health psychology. She completed her health/medical psychology internship and post-doctoral residency at Interventional Pain and Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and at the Nashville and Murfreesboro VA hospitals. She has experience with children, adults, and the geriatric population conducting psychological, surgical, and neuropsychological evaluations and providing psychotherapy to address various medical and mental health related concerns.
Johnathan Johnson, LPC/MHSP- Johnathan Johnson has over 17 years of experience in the field including 13 years in residential treatment with adolescents. Since 2013, he has worked with individuals, groups and families at New Directions. The majority of his clients are adults who feel lost, depressed or struggle with unhealthy behavior. He also has an extensive history treating very difficult behaviors in adolescents including treatment of trauma, sexual behaviors, moderate adolescent alcohol and drug use, and nearly any adolescent disruptive behaviors. Recently, he has begun working with people living alternative lifestyles who have special considerations and might be fearful of judgment or conservative beliefs related to their search for a therapist. As the CEO of New Directions Counseling & Consulting, Johnathan works to ensure that both his clients and our staff experience the highest quality of care. He not only see clients, he also oversees New Directions' staff, provides clinical supervision, and facilitates seminars. He takes pride in attracting, preparing, and supervising professionals to work with clients and in becoming independent practitioners with their own private practice and specialties.
