May 20 6:00AM - 8:00PM

Sat-Sun 6:00am, 5/20 -5/21/2017 Torreya State Park Hike and Tallahassee bike ride: We will meet at McDonald's on I-10 and Chafee Road. (South of I-10) at 6am,it's a 4 hour drive so be on time.Come out and hike the most rugged and difficult trail in Florida The Florida trail in Torreya State Park along the Apalachicola River offers scenic views along the Bluffs that are 300 feet high and old civil War gun pits and diverse terrain. The trail is around 7.2 miles but can extend into 15 miles for the diehards. There are diverse and unique plants and trees in this are such as the Ash Magnoli, Torreya cedar and Yee tree .We will come back to camp in the State park for the night. This hike is very doable for this time of year with plenty of fluids and proper clothing .Sunday morning we will break camp and head to Tallahassee to bike ride starting at J.R.Alford Greenway thru Heritage park on to Tom Brown park. I strongly recommend mountain, hybrid or road bike with cyclcross tires , the trail is half paved and half hard packed dirt trail. If you think you can use a beach cruiser , think again , you'll have to be an elite cyclist to try that, comprende !!! more information check the following website: http://Floridastateparks.org/TORREYA.

I will reserve several campsites for camping ,since it is a busy time of the month in this area and half of the lodging is already reserved please be absolutely sure you're committed and pay as soon as possible. The campsites are $20 a night but we can place 2 tents and 6 campers per site to cut cost.

The event is approximately 200 miles and will take 4 hours to get to the event.
