The MIG welder is a common metalworking tool which can be used for many different applications, such as automotive repair and small to large scale construction projects. In this class you will be trained on the basic safety, operation, and techniques of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) or as its commonly referred Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. In our 2 hour session we will cover setting up the machine, proper grounding, stock material preparations, personal protection equipment, and supervised hands on welding for each student.

**Participants should wear long sleeves, jeans or heavy work pants, and close-toed shoes (boots preferred).**

The metal shop and it's associated classes are for adults aged 18 or older only.

About the Instructor

Michael DAngelo is an information technology engineer with 15 years of experience in the field. His focuses are in computer networking, VoIP, and the emerging fields of big data and cloud computing. In his free time he enjoys designing, and fabricating performance motorcycles and cars. Born in Worcester and having attended Assabet Vocational and Cape Cod Regional Technical high schools he understands the need for vocational options for the lower and middle class of the city. Michael serves on the Technocopia board and is the steward of its Metal Fabrication Shop.
