Youth Leadership Program "Train the Trainer" Comes to Rhode Island!

Have you heard about the Toastmasters YLP, Youth Leadership Program? Have you thought about running this program for your children or community? Are you interested in helping to facilitate a team? Have you wondered exactly what it takes to run this program well?

If so, reserve Saturday, February 10th from 10 - 1 PMon your calendar so that you can attend the Youth Leadership Trainer Training at New England Institute of Technology!

District 31's YLP Gurus, Dan Stanton, Hannah Stanton, and Dr. Jesus Paez-Cortez will be coming down to Rhode Island for this "Trainer Training" to demonstrate and share what they have learned after running YLPs many, many times, and the ways they have adapted the YLP from Toastmasters to bring it to life.

This is a hands-on training for any Toastmasters who are interested in conducting a Youth Leadership Programfor middle or high school students. Running a Youth Leadership Program also meets one of the requirements for your Advanced Communicator Gold.

After this training, you'll have the techniques you need and strategies to successfully run a full blown Youth Leadership Program in your community!

You will learn how to:

  • Assemble a team of Toastmasters to run the YLP
  • Handle the coordination & pre-work
  • Find funding for the YLP from corporate sponsors or local community
  • Find a location
  • Identify students
  • Find parent & student coordinators
  • Prepare exciting materials and exercises
  • Use improv techniques for deeper learning and fun
  • Arrange a grand graduation ceremony with a guest of honor

We would love to see you there as we generate and share strategies for inspiring youth and giving the next generation the public speaking and leadership skills they'll need to succeed!

Regards, Charlie
