When signing up for this hike you will be automatically placed on a waitlist. 'IF' you have 'NEVER' hiked with me before, please answer the RSVP question so we can determine together whether this is an appropriate hike for you to join. The answers and discussion after will be the deciding factors of gaining a spot on the go list. My goal is to get as many people out to the mountains as possible, but also be fair to those who are signing up well equipped, capable, and having certain expectations for the hike.

Thunder Mountain: Scramble

There is potential for this to turn into an extreme day. If the conditions look ok upon arrival to Thunder, we will drop a car at the west ridge in the event we make an attempt to exit that way. That is going to be the plan and you should only sign on if you are willing to take on a big challenge. Nothing is guaranteed, we may get a long way in to the attempt and be forced to turn back and exit the normal route. This will possibly add many hours to the trip. The secret code for a potentially epic hikes is, bring spare batteries for your headlamp :D!!!

The stats are just estimate, we will be away from the city all day. Expect a minimum of 11km, 1000 meters, and 7 hours on trail. Maybe much more.

Rain or wind WILL affect the destination decision.

There is a great Chinese restaurant in the south end of the city, if we get back at a decent time we'll stop there for an after hike supper.

It will be rare to see any of my events canceled, worst case will be a location change if weather conditions are not favorable at the initial destination.

Times are APPROX, if you need to be back in the city at a particular time, its best to sit this one out.

Car pool fee $15. (I am bumping up the gas fee for drivers due to current gas prices).

Cheers

Michael JC
