Nutcracker (in a Nutshell) takes children through the classic ballet The Nutcracker in just 30 minutes. Set to Tchaikovsky's music, The Nutcracker Prince, Rat King, Snow Queen, Sugar Plum and all her friends make an appearance. Make Christmas crafts before the show. Waltz of the flowers interactive character dance and creativity workshop follow the performance. Nutcracker in a Nutshell is part of Soulocentrics Bach Tots program which choreographs performances specifically for children ages 0-6 and introduces them to classical and contemporary dance, visual storytelling, music and the performing arts through short live performances.

Doors open approximately 30 minutes before the performance for pre-show crafts.

This show is recommended for children aged 0-6, but enjoyable for all ages, and all are welcome! Visit us at to see photos and videos of the show.

What age range is this event suitable for?

The performance is best suited for infants, toddlers and children up to approx. age 6. It is also very enjoyable for those who are "young at heart", and all ages are welcome. We maintain a flexible, family friendly environment tolerant of wiggles, giggles, shouts, tears, laughter, chatting and more! We are "fuss-friendly"!

What is the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another date. If you cannot attend, feel free to pass on your ticket to a friend.

Do adults need a ticket?

Yes. All attendees need a ticket.

Will tickets be available at the door (rush tickets)?

Ticket availability at the door is not guarenteed. This event regularily sells out so advance purchase is recommended. Once sales go offline, you can check if tickets are still available at the door by calling 403-651-4611 or checking social media (via Bach Tots). Cash and credit cards are accepted at the door. No debit.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

While we will have a list at the box office with your name/order on it, it is good to bring a paper or electronic copy of your tickets or receipt with you.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes. Tickets are transferable to another person. Please pass on your tickets to friends if you cannot use them, or have your guests check in under the name registered on the ticket.
