Never forget those that paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our great nation, we want to honor and pay our respects by visiting rural cemeteries and place the great American Flag at their final resting place. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank and honor the youngest brother of our fellow Friendship Rider, Peter Palacios. Luis Palacios was serving in Vietnam in 1968 when the helicopter that was sent to rescue his troop crashed. At that time, he was thought to be Missing in Action. Forty years later in 2008, his remains were identified and returned home to his family. He was one of 5 brothers that all served in our nation's military and he gave the ultimate sacrifice. Luis was buried in California, but Peter lives here and we want to show our appreciation for all that he has done.

With the gracious gifts of many friends, we have over 800 flags to place and this will be a local 2 day event in which we will try to place all 800 flags in local rural cemeteries. This is a RED, WHITE, and BLUE event and we'd like to ask a Veteran from each branch of the service to volunteer one of the two days to place the main flags at the cemeteries. If any of our members can play a trumpet or bugle, please bring it along as well! The cemeteries that we will visit will be determined over the next several months. I will keep you updated as I gather the information.

Peter Palacios "I can not express my thanks and gratitude for you all posting this, it is not my brother, but all those alongside him that gave all so we can be free, live without fear , enjoy the quality of life we do today, my brother and those that did not return ARE the real heroes, by riding every year, putting off everything else to take time and ride Is the least I can do for these brave men, our heroes , NEVER FORGET those and their families, GOD BLESS THEM ALL, Semper Fi!!!!"

God Bless you Peter Palacios, your story truly touched our hearts. This will become an annual event to honor your brother Luis and everyone that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
