The Invisible California is a new series from Pivot and PACE that highlights the educational needs of some of the most underservedparts of California.
Join us in LA and Sacramento as we discuss the results of our research study on the educational and community landscape of the Antelope Valley, an area of Northern Los Angeles County the size of Rhode Island. The paper focuses on the rapid growth and stunning demographic changes of theschool districts and communities of the region.
A panel of experts, including school district officials, community leaders, and researchers, will discuss the needs ofthe Antelope Valley and recommendations to expand and improveeducational opportunities for the large numbers of low-income, homeless, and foster youth. They will also discuss how thegrowth of the Valley's population has been driven by increasing cost of living in Southern LA County and theresulting need of service providers, foundations, and government to shift their attention northward.
