This workshop is aimed at educators interested in joining other educators for the purpose of sharing and promoting ocean science and ocean robotics in their classrooms or as an extracurricular club. The workshop is intended to equip teachers with the materials and resources to build a SEAPERCH style submersible Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and to link them within a community of likeminded educators.
Educators will be expected to participate in 2-3 virtual check-ins during the course of the term (October-January), and have the option of participating in both an community field trip, and a ROV olympics during the term. These check-ins will allow educators to connect with one another, troubleshoot and share information. The optional field trips will bring students together, celebrate lessons learned, and allow students to show off their skills.
This workshop and opportunity is being offered in partnership between Ocean Networks Canada and St. Margaret's School.
