Sung breath is a Daoist breath awareness practice that assists the practitioner in relocating their true center to the area around the navel. Our true self is consciousness itself however this is a very difficult realization to achieve largely for two reasons; 1. Our culture is intellectually biased and through the conditioning of our school system etc... our center of gravity is shifted upward toward our center of consciousness in the head, hence the reason so many of us have forward leaning postures and low back pain; 2. We/the ego tends to identify with temporal states of awareness as permanent such as traumas from the past or desires that have us looking to the future, this creates a situation where the mind is almost never truly in the present and once again our center is shifted upward and outside the body. This session will involve breath work, a yoga set (any level of experience appropriate), and meditation. This powerful session will begin at 7:10pm.
Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.
