The butterfly effect is the notion that a small action can impact a chaotic system in potentially large and unforeseenways.

This tends to happen with people - we say or do something small within our network of friends, acquaintances and professional connections and the impact can have unforeseen consequences. What if human social networks are not as hard to understand as we think?
Would it be possible to engineer an entire network of people to do, say or think something?

Yes.

This is not a sci-fi story. It is not pseudoscience. Methods exist and are being used today to do just that.

With a focus on math and programming, we'll be diving into exactly where and how networks can be analyzed so that we may have a desired impact on them.

Come and learn how to build your own human botnet and talk about what can be done to mitigate manipulation in social networks.
