What we'll do
Hey all! Let's get together and snowshoe to Gold Lake. This is a good beginner's snowshoe trip.
Drive: We'll meet at 8am at Best Buy to set up car pool. Chains or traction tires are required on the pass (they can just be in your car). I-5S to exit 188A on Hwy 58 toward Oakridge. We'll continue past Oakridge and get off on the right at Gold Lake SnoPark. Approximately 1 to 1.5 hour drive.

Trail: This is an out and back. The trail starts across the highway and goes in 2.25 miles with minimal elevation to Gold Lake shelter. We can stop here for snacks and view the lake and then go out the way we came.

What to bring
The 10 essentials! Please view them here: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/ten-essentials.html
Make sure to bring layers!
Snowshoes (can rent them at Berg's if you do not own) and trekking poles/ski poles if you would like.

Important to know
Well behaved dogs on leash or under voice control at all times are welcome. Your dog must be good with other dogs. If anyone in the group is not comfortable with your dog they must be on a leash and right by you for the entire hike. The dog must be able to hike through deep snow. Please be prepared to drive yourself if you have a dog.

How to find us:We'll be near the back of the parking lot to set up car pool
