Party like it's 1999! Unpack your babydoll dresses, flannel shirts, and cargo pants- it's time to hang with old friends, reminisce about growing up in the burbs in the 90s, and pretend we don't see everyone on social media every day. :)
The SHS '99 Reunion will take place in downtown Providence at the Providence GPub, a "modern gastropub with a speakeasy feel." Your ticket to the event includes two drink tickets and tons of food. Nervous about small talk? GPub comes equipped with air hockey tables, foosball, billiards, and more. We also have a private party room for SHS '99 mementos and a slideshow of embarrassing photos. (You're welcome.)
In all seriousness, we have a ton to celebrate. Our class is intact, in relatively good health and overall rocking the late 30's slide into middle agedom. Among our classmates, there are teachers, doctors, lawyers, police officers, musicians and sword swallowers. Many have travelled far and wide, moving across the country and around the world, and others have found their way back to Smithfield. It's clear that there's more to our classmates than their status updates and twitter feeds!
Let's make this the best reunion around- join us, bring a spouse/partner/friend/stranger (as long as they are 21) and reconnect. Wear your green and gold with pride...just leave your Dave Matthews Band mixtapes and brown lipstick at home.
And as a special bonus: Join us at this year's Thanksgiving Day Football Game at Smithfield High School. (Game time is 10:30am). We will have a special "Class of 99" pop-up tent with coffee and doughnuts during the game. Meet at the tent after the first quarter for a tour of the high school (lots of renovations in the past 20 years). This informal gathering and tour are FREE and family-friendly!
