The snow has melted on the trail to Lower Lena Lake and reports say it is absolutely gorgeous with lush greenery and flowing waterfalls

Please respect the posted pace of this hike which is SLOW with frequent stops for photos (and or to catch your breath if you're a beginner or just getting in shape for the season).

Round Trip: 7.2 miles

Elevation Gain: 1300 feet

Map: Green Trails The Brothers No. 168

Pass: Northwest Forest Pass or other Federal Interagency pass required for parking at trailhead (I have one)

Drivers Needed:
If we have a full eight people, two cars with four people each + gear is ideal. If there are more passengers than there are spots in vehicles, the last non-driver to RSVP may be bumped to make room for a driver from the wait list.

We will meet at the 512 Park and Ride in Tacoma/Lakewood, but would be happy to stop at the Martin Way Park and Ride for any Olympia folks who want to join us.

*No meeting at the trailhead or anywhere with sketchy cell phone reception.

No children or dogs on this hike please.

Bring:
As always, don't forget your ten essentials https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Essentials

Cash for Mexican Food in Hoodsport on the way home (theres nothing quite like walking into a restaurant and immediately being brought chips & salsa and being offered a margarita) after a backpacking trip.

Trip organizers reserve the right to refuse to take improperly equipped participants for the safety of everyone involved.

No show/wait list/RSVP policy!!!
For hikes that have a waiting list, if you have any "no shows" or two or more last minute cancellations in the previous 12 months (or a questionable attendance history), and/or you do not have an established history of showing up, have no answered the required questions when signing up and/or have not responded to any communication regarding the trip you will be removed from the RSVP list so that someone on the wait list can attend. If you engage in "place holding" by RSVPing for more than one event on the same day, you will be removed from the RVSP list so someone on the wait list can attend.

If you want to bring a "plus one" please have then join the group and sign up for themselves. This is to ensure that everyone reads and agrees to the disclaimer, gets up to date trip information and can communicate directly with the organizer.
