A Word To My Sisters...
The past few months have been a very busy time for my family. My oldest daughter graduated from college, accepted her first real job, and moved to New York City. I am coming to grips with the fact that in just a few short weeks, my youngest daughtermy baby!will be leaving for her first year of college. My husband has been working on new projects in his business. Both sets of grandparents are in their 70s, and as anyone who has aging parents knows, they now need us and rely on us in more than ever. With all the busyness in my life, it occurred to me that I hadnt been paying attentionto ME! And that became very clear a few weeks ago on a flight back to Dayton after a weeklong business trip.
After boarding my flight and securing myself into my seat, the flight attendant said, May I have your attention, please? For some reason, that statement struck me. While his purpose was to alert me to all the safety features on the plane, and to provide instructions on what to do in the event of an emergency, those six words resonated with me:
May I have your attention, please?
It was like an Oprah, Aha Moment! As if an alarm had sounded. As if a bell had rung. As if someone was yelling into a megaphone. It caused me to realize that I had become so pre-occupied with everything that was going on in my life, that I was no longer focusing on my life.
I wasnt paying attention.
What about YOU? Are there people, situations, or circumstances that have kept YOU from paying attention to YOU?
If so, then I invite you to join us on September 16th aswe come together to PAY ATTENTION (Yes, I am yelling!) to our lives.
This years conference format will be a two-part MasterClass. In the morning, we will explore why we arent paying attention. And in the afternoon, we will learn ways to focus...so that we can pay attention.
Consider this: What is the CO$T of not paying attention to your life?
I look forward to seeing YOU in September!
In love and sisterhood!
