What kind of journey are you on?Are you on a Hero's journey, or a Hobo's journey?
The Hobo journeys through life casually, carefree, going from destination to destination on no schedule and with no purpose. He just enjoyed life for what it offered and took what he could to survive. There was no great reward, no huge accomplishment, but quite a story to tell.
Alternately, the Hero's journey is an amazing adventure that also creates quite a story to tell. In fact, you've seen it and heard it a hundred times, you probably just don't know it. The question is which version you create for yourself. The version where you are the hero of your own story, or the version, as F. Scott Fitzgerald puts it, where you become a tragedy. The truth is somewhere blended in both, plus some.If you are on your own Hero's journey, like Luke Skywalker, or Harry Potter, or Frodo Baggins, or Neo, or Woody, then you have an amazing story to tell.
Join me at Second Saturday with the Ascending Leaders Communityon February 10thwhere we will talk about the Hero's journey and your story. Learn about Joseph Campbell's Monomyth and the 12 steps of the hero's journey from his book The Hero With a Thousand Faces. Then let's apply this to your own life and begin developing your Hero's story.
