I plan to scout between Sample Meadow to the bridge, and perhaps beyond. It's about five miles to the bridge. Basically go out as far as we're comfortable with going within two days, camp, take pictures of downed trees (legion) and other issues along the TST. Having scouted the side trail from the forebay almost to Portuguese Flat I already know we're in for some faint trail treads and major blowdowns.
I intend to have a radio and already have a PLB. I use a GPS app to waypoint trail issues and take pictures with my phone camera. We will be doing an abbreviated JHA, no saw work will be done.
