NB: We have changed the location of the meetup for the next two months from Walter Johnson High School to Montgomery College Rockville because the World Team Tennis competitive leagues will be using Walter Johnson High School during that time period. Since there are 6 courts at Montgomery College in comparison to the 8 at Walter Johnson, I will put a waitlist just in case. Also, the Woodley Gardens Park location is open just in case we have overflow issues.

To get to the tennis courts at Montgomery College Rockville, please park at Parking Lot #3, at the back of campus. The courts will be on the left side of the baseball/softball field.

Most of us are around[masked], some better, some getting better. Either way, we find the best match-ups for everyone in either singles or double's (your choice). The more people we have, the more flexible we can be to accommodate everyone.

You are welcome to come and go as you please, although I do encourage you to try and make it at 8 am to match everyone up accordingly. We usually play until about 11 am - 12 noon.

For those on the wait-list, you are welcome to show up as not everyone who RSVPs makes it in the end. However, I give priority to the 16 RSVPs, and it's usually unlikely that we get more than 4 courts. Thanks for understanding. **LATE ARRIVAL POLICY: RSVPs have a 15 minute grace period before I start putting on wait-list people. I will always do my best to accommodate late arrivals, but if you are consistently showing up 15-30+ min late, it is not fair to everyone else.**

No show policy due to heavy interest for Sat.:

This applies for when this meetup is full. If you RSVP for the Saturday meetup and your plans change, you must change your RSVP by 12 hours before the meetup starts (so 8pm or 9pm Friday depending on the start time). This gives those on the wait list adequate warning. If you do not meet this deadline, you will be considered a no show. Three no shows a calendar year and you will automatically have lowest priority for any meetups for a month.

I understand that sometimes you will not be able to change your RSVP until the last minute (injury, illness, job, emergency, etc). If you change your RSVP within the last 12 hours and provide a reason, I will use my discretion to decide whether to declare you a no show. Any abuse of this policy will be relatively clear.

Note: If you like what you see in the meetup, please help us out by donating to the meetup. At the very least, that way we can keep the meetup site running and continue the meetup activities as they are. Thank you! Please remember to bring water to every session to stay hydrated.

Note:

1.Try to play for fun on every shot--That's' MUCH easier said than done, but it meansbeing eager but relaxed, and not too worried about misses or questionable line calls. You canoccasionally ask to replay, and if you can't really tell about a ball your opponent hit near a line, call it 'IN' , becausemeet upgames at this level needto be played for everyone's fun and fitness over winning.

2. Beforewalking through or getting a ball froma neighboring court, waituntiltheir point is over. Its OK, to ask for a ball during the court's break between points.

3. Don't just hit to or very hard to a weaker player to win games--Then everyone gets equal chances to play more successfully. and fun just playing is valued over the fun of winning, so that everyone wins.

4. If you're on the waiting list, please allow those who first registered to play at the MU starting timeunless they're willing to share. Let Tim or host know if you have questions or concerns.
