Santa Paws Pet Parade Registration

Tickets may be purchased online through this website, or in-person by visiting Hayward Animal shelter (16 Barnes Court, Hayward, CA 94544) Tuesdays thru Saturdays from 1-5pm.

There will be several categories that parade participants may win awards for. Please specify on the day of registration which category you would like to compete in, if any. Only 1 category per participant, as parade is broken into sections based on category.

Parade Schedule

8:00 - 9:00 am - Registration and Check-in

9:00 - 9:25 am - Parade lines up

9:30 am - Parade leaves promptly at 9:30 am

9:30 - 10:30 am - Parade marches

10:30 - 11:30 am - Parade category awards announced, Photo booth available for $10 in plaza.

12:00 pm - Parade, awards, and photos end.

Registration Fees

Early Registration (Before 12/1/2017)is $10.00 per pet, 2 pets for $15.00 or 3-4 pets for $20.

Parade participants with only stuffed animals, register as "1 pet".

Registration Day-of-Parade (12/2/2017) is $12 per pet, $20 for 2 pets, or $25 for 3-4 pets.

Float Registration is $40 with a limit of 10 people per float.Floats must register by Monday, November 27th by 5pm and include a description of their float (size, vehicle, theme). All floats must be family friendly. Hayward Animal Shelter reserves the right to decline any float registration or remove any float from the parade.

There will be a photo-booth (maybe with Santa) at the end of the Parade for $10 on the day-of the event. Cash only, proceeds to benefit the shelter animals and help pay for the cost of the parade.

Donations and Registration Fees are Tax Deductible. Proceeds benefit the Hayward Animal Shelter.


1. Only one dog per handler.

2. All pet handlers must be 18 years of age or older.

3. Dogs must be wearing collar with tags and non-retractable leash. NO retractable leashes allowed.

4. Dogs must habe current rabies vaccination and city or county license. Proof of current rabies and license must be available upon request.

5. All pets must be properly controlled with appropriate harness, leash, or carriers.

6. Floats must register by 11/27/17 and submit description of the float with registration on size, theme, and vehicle of float.

7. All floats must be PG rated and family friendly. No more than 10 people per float.



All registrants, by registering,agree to the following waiver:

My children and my pets may participate in the pet parade on Saturday, December 2, 2017, and I release City of Hayward from liability for myself, my pets, andmy children for property damage, theft, or personal injury occurring to my child/pet during or as a result of being in this event. Additionally, I agree to abide by the rules and requirements of the Parade and any animal that will be participating with me will have no medical conditions or behavior concerns that impair their ability to complete the event or affect the safety of others.


Where is check-in / registration / staging for the parade?

All parade participants will meet in Municipal Lot # 2 which is located behind Buffalo Bills in downtown Hayward. Entrance to the lot is on A Street between Foothill Blvd. and Main Street.

What is the parade route?

Parade route is from Municipal lot #2 , down B st. around C city hall and end in Hayward City Hall Plaza.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

If driving, there are two parking garages and various municipal public parking lots accessible from C St. / Foothill Bvd. and Mission Boulevard between B. Street and C street.

The closest BART stop is Hayward Bart Station.

What does my pet need to participate in the event?

All pets must be on-leash at all times or in a secure pet carrier.

All pets must be well behaved and get along well with other animals and pets to ensure the safety of all parade participants.

Dogs must have current rabies and city or county licenses.

Do I need to have a pet to participate in the parade?

You do not need a pet to particpate in the parade. You may march in the parade with your favorite stuffed animal, or join with friends to make and enter a float in the parade.

How can I become a sponsor of the event?

There are three sponsorship levels available.

$100 - Will put your name or your business logo on our parade sponsorship banner.

$200 -Will put your name or your business logoon our parade sponsorship banner and a "Thank you for sponsoring" mention on our facebook page.

$300 and above -Will put your name or your business logo on our parade sponsorship, a "Thank you for sponsoring" mention on our facebook page, and a "thank you for sponsoring" on our website:
