Anyone can become a Rutgers Environmental Steward!

TheRutgers Environmental Steward programis designed to introduce non-scientists to the science behind important environmental issues affecting NJ. Stewards then give back to their own communities by helping to tackle local environmental problems. If you have a passion for the environment, a desire to learn and a willingness to volunteer, then this program is for you!

Fieldtrips to environmentally significant sites around the state are included as part of the program.

  • Soil Health
  • Energy Conservation
  • Water Resource Protection
  • Invasive Species
  • Wildlife Management
  • Habitat Conservation
  • Protecting Pollinators
  • Environmental Policy

To become a certified Rutgers Environmental Steward, graduates of the class portion of the program complete a unique 60-hour volunteer internship of their choosing.

The program runs weekly and one ticket covers all of the meeting dates.

Atlantic County
