What we'll do
The Run Away with Cirque du Soleil 5K run or 1-mile fun walk is an enjoyable event for individuals and family members. The cost of the 5K race is $37 and the 1-mile fun walk is $27, plus fees; with the proceeds going to support the Springs Preserve and Cirque du Soleil Foundations. Note: the price increases as the race approches. This will be the ninth consecutive year where my wife and I have participated and its always been memorable; even the one year when it was unseasonably cold. Although, I compete in the 5K race, my wife registers for the 1-mile fun walk and walks the more enjoyable 5K run course. Registering for the 5K run allows for your time to be chip recorded and makes you eligible for a possible award in your age/gender division.

Also included with registration is a cool synthetic Run Away with Cirque de Soleil T-shirt. Though, its best to pick-up your race packet the day prior to save time on race day and also obtain the T-shirt when various sizes are most available. Your race bib is also good for a free admission to the Springs Preserve within 30 days after the date of the race.

If anyone is interested in walking the 5K with fellow Hikers, well meet-up at the south-east area of the Meadows Mall parking lot near the Spring Preserve entrance at 7:30am, which will allow for ample time to partake of the pre-race activities prior to the race start at 8:30am. Look for a silver Jeep Cherokee with a US flag proudly displayed.

Also, participates should review the event schedule at the website to become familiar with the details of the race. Lastly, anyone interested in registering for this event should not dawdle as participation is limited and the race sometimes sells out

The following website address should provide a link at for more information and registration.
