Route 25A is the quintessential scenic motorcycle route of New York & Long Island. All motorcycle riders in NY must do this route at least one - normally reserved for warmer summer days, the route is an excellent introduction to distance riding.

We'll take it slow on the highway, LIE and get off by Glen Cove Road, ride up to Glen Cove to Oyster Bay, see if Billy Joel opened his garage for the summer and then just lazily follow 25A all the way up to Port Jefferson, take a rest, grab an eat and then come back.

All in all a few hours of riding both ways and a few hours to kill here and there.

This is a slow ride, for the benefit of beginners. We will go easy, we will go slow. All levels are welcome - let's hope the weather holds up :-)

We don't want to get caught up in traffic - hence the early start. KSU probably closer to 7:30AM-ish.

You don't need an EZ-Pass for this, but if you ride a bike in NY, you should have an EZ-pass on your bike; it's worth it.

Take LIE (Long Island Expressway - Eastbound) and get off of Exit 21. If anybody doesn't feel comfortable taking the highway by themselves, please let me know so that we can arrange something.

How to find us:As soon as you get off of Exit 21, there is a triangle / park area to the right.
