The Tower and Rockbound Lakes trip is a rather rigorous 8.4 kilometers hike carrying the hiker high behind the ramparts of Castle Mountain to the snow-fed waters of two distinctly different tarns, one a placid and green mirror fringed by a pleasantly open subalpine forest and meadowland; the other a cold, grey sheet of water contained within a basin of steep scree slopes and massive, tumbled boulders. Much of the trail to the lakes is quite a steep access road, and the early season traveller must be prepared to face short sections of boggy terrain in order to reach the lakes and enjoy the scenery found here - the lakes, Eisenhower Tower and an extensive view down the Sawback Range and the Bow Valley. If we time it just right, we may see the larch trees in all their glory.

Carpool Departs at 8:00 a.m., please arrive 15 minutes before. The Club suggests a compensation of 6 cents per kilometer both ways for the driver(s).
