Why it works
Over the last two decades, weve learned a lot about how to help people accomplish their goals. We bring together our members in a positive environment with other like-minded athletes, give them a carefully refined training structure to guide them, coach them skillfully, and watch the achievement happen. Participants show up each week to run or walk, to support each other in a common goal, and to hold each other accountable. In these ways, USA FIT is more than a training schedule; its a way of life that helps members thrive both on and off the track.
Hot Weather Training from Coach Mercedes: We are now firmly in the heat of the summer and it's more important than ever to train safely. A couple tips to keep in mind:Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate -- drink early and often and include some electrolytes. Sources of electrolytes can be sports drinks, energy gels or salt tablets.Train when the sun is down. My preference is early morning when it's coolest. After the sun goes down is typically warmer but is still preferable to training with the sun beating down. For the ladies -- put a small ice pack in your sports bra. This is a tip I received from a member a couple years ago.Take it easy! I often find myself getting frustrated that I can't go as fast or as far as I think I should in the heat. It's okay, we'll all be faster and more comfortable in October. How to find us:Under the Pavilion
