Rescue A Reef expeditions are half day excursions leaving from Divers Paradise on Key Biscayne. Once everyone has their gear assembled, our team will provide a short demonstration on coral nursery maintenance and outplanting methods before we head out to our Key Biscayne Coral Nursery. At the nursery, well need your help in cleaning the nursery trees, measuring corals, and collecting corals to take to the outplant site. After our work is done at the nursery, well head to a nearby reef where well outplant the corals and conduct a survey of the reef.

Our boat will leave from Divers Paradise at 8:00am (please arrive by 7:30am) and return to the dock around 1:00pm.All participants in the dive activities must be at least 18 years old. The ticket for the dive excursion will cover two tanks, mask, fins, and snorkels. BCD, regulator, and wetsuit are not coveredand will be the responsibility of each individual to bring or rent. If needed, the BCD and regulator can be rentedfor an additional fee of about $35 and wetsuits for $10 from Divers Paradise.*

After returning from the morning coral restoration dives, about 1:30pm the families of the participants are encouraged to join the citizen scientist divers and the Rescue A Reef staff at Divers Paradise for some food and drinks. Our team will be hosting educational activities for families, friends, and kids to learn about coral reefs.
