Instead of tailgating after the hike, those interested will be going to the World Famous Mountain Springs Saloon (aka, biker bar). Available drinks include beer, wine, iced tea, coke, lemonade, coffee and water. There is outdoor seating with picnic tables, horseshoes, bar food at a separate building with ponds, and hopefully pleasant weather.

Hidden Peak is in the southern portion of Red Rock and we will be taking the back route from near Mountain Springs Pass. The hike is 8 miles out-and-back with 2,000 of elevation gain. The first 7/8 is trail and the last 1/8 is sandstone scrambling. The hike is moderately strenuous and the pace is moderate. Plan on about 5.0 hours of hiking, 1.5 hours at the saloon, and 0.5 hours of driving.

The primary focus of this series is moderate-level scrambling. If you are interested in exploring the Calico Hills and Red Rock Canyon, and you enjoy "playing" on the rocks then add your name to the Wait List. Due to the Group size limit of 25 for outer areas, priority will be given to those who have attended any of the Red Rock, Mt Charleston or Lake Mead "series" hikes in the past regardless of position on the Wait List. If I don't know you, be sure to fill out your Profile so I can see what your experience level is. This Series is not for beginners. You should have a reasonable level of fitness and some scrambling experience.
