Innovation Tools for Journalists with BBC News Labs
Spend all of your time transcribing interviews?
Struggling with how to make your audio content more shareable?
Sick of manually re-versioning web videos from one language to another?
Connected Studio and News Labs are holding a two-hour exhibition showcasing prototype tools that are available for use by BBC journalists. Register to learn about our latest technologies, meet the developers and offer feedback for improvements and ideas for future projects!
Well be showcasing:
The Online Content Toolkit (Octo), a media platform for generating sub-clips and subtitles directly from an automatically generated transcript;
Audiograms, a programme that converts audio files into shareable mp4 waveform graphics for social media;
ALTO, a tool that generates translated voice-overs for video content using synthetic voice technology.
Well also be sharing our latest work for voice devices like Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
