As we are always on the look-out for new and different ways to photograph Chicago, we have arranged a special opportunity for the Out of Chicago community. We are hosting a photography meetup to shoot the sunrise on Saturday morning September 16th from the 11th floor deck at the original Prudential Tower. The deck faces South on Randolph directly on to Millennium park.
Hoping for great weather, we will capture the brief blue period before sunrise and then watch the golden light bath the park from our feet out to Adler Planetarium. With a combination of wide angle and telephoto lenses, you can capture some unique views of the city with long morning shadows.
There will not be formal instructing offered, but we will have several of our Out of Chicago team and some of our regular experienced photographers around to offer assistance.
We will meet at the main entrance on Randolph and go into the building as a group at 5:30am and will be able to stay until about 7:30am. Sunrise is officially at 6:31am.
After we finish our shoot, for those that are interested, we can gather at Wildberry which is in the same building for breakfast. And since you are in the city, you might as well shoot more some more sights in the area which include the park and the domes inside of the Chicago Cultural Center which is only a few minutes walk from the Prudential building.
In order to give everyone who joins space to setup on the deck, we need to limit this event to 20 people.
We will send detailed logistics to the attendees a couple days in advance.
