Do you know what to do if you or one of your paddling friends gets hurt? Do you know how to use an EpiPen and what to do until you can get emergency care for a paddler having an allergic reaction? An asthma attack? A seizure? If one of your paddling friends dislocates a shoulder far from an emergency room, what would you do?
If you are concerned that you wouldn't be prepared in the case of these or other emergencies, join us for Paddlers First Aid. This is a modified Wilderness First Aid course designed specifically for paddlers; whether you enjoy whitewater paddling, sea kayaking, or rafting, this course is designed to give you the skills to treat an injured or ill person on the water and get that person and the rest of your group to help safely.
Adult CPR certfication is a requirement for this course, we will offer the American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED course during the lunch break if you do not have certification prior to the class. If you are not planning to complete the CPR/AED course during the Paddlers First Aid course, you will need to provide proof of your CPR certification at the start of class.
