Every Tuesday at 6:30, if you need a track workout, we'll link up with TMIRCE, (The Most Informal Running Club Ever). This is an open track workout. Don't let the RSVPs fool you, there are usually over 20 people there! No matter your ability level, you'll be able to go at your own pace and meet other endurance enthusiasts. The group usually goes out for beer afterwards.

Look for me or Andy Marx. Click here for the track location. We meet at the area on the track marked by the red X.

It's a 400 Meter Track. We run intervals (200, 400, 800...etc) with a recovery pace in between. The workout will be explained to everyone before the start. We often run at 5k pace or faster. If you would like to know your 5k pace click this link for the Interval pace calculator.

If you're newer to running or nursing and injury slow your pace accordingly and/or take extended recoveries.

Hope to see you there!

Here is Active.com's reasons to love the Oval!

3 Reasons to Love The Oval

1) PROPER PACING
On a treadmill, the belt keeps you on pace, even if your energy fades.
"You're just keeping up with what's moving underneath you," says
Marius Maianu, a clinical exercise physiologist at the Cooper Clinic
in Dallas. By contrast, hitting a certain pace on the track requires
more mental effort.

2) POSITIVE PEER PRESSURE
At a group workout, you're likely to push harder than you might on
your own. You're also less likely to give up when the going gets
tough. Other runners at the workout can spot sloppy form that might be
slowing you down.

3) THE FUN FACTOR
Track may be about speed, but at most workouts organized by running
clubs, the vibe stays social and supportive. The track is a great
place to meet new running buddiesthe kind who help you get out the
door in epic conditions, or tough out a long run.
