Day 3 we will meet at the Sweetbay NA parking lot and then head back to Riverbend in as few vehicles as possible to start this hike of about 10.4 miles back to Sweetbay. This is some less traveled territory through the Loxahatchee Slough.

Please note, some have had a problem finding this parking lot in the past. The address for the NA does not show correctly on the mapand I can't edit it.If you click on the map and zoom out you should see Sweetbay on the map. But don'tcount on your auto navigational system! Call me if you are not sure of this location. There is a big sign on the south side of the Beeline for the North County Airport; turn south here. The NA is about 700 feet ahead on the right.

I have scheduled a series of day hikes that will cover the whole Ocean To Lake Hiking Trail; this is day 3.To take part in this activity you must be willing to transport others in your vehicle if needed. We will do each day by meeting at our end location and then loading into as few vehicles as possible and driving back to our starting point. Then at the end of the hike someone will have to drive the transport drivers back to their vehicle. The total mileage for the 8 days is about 72 right now. If you wonder why when the OTLHT is 63 it is because some days require a hike to get on the trail and I plan on covering some side trails and a boardwalk in Corbett.

Day 4 will be the Beeline road walk of .9 miles (yuck) and Hungryland Slough. This is the only area on the trail I have spotted a bobcat. We will go into Corbett and do the White blaze wetlands bypass because the following day we will traverse the wetlands! We will also do a mile trail in Corbett at the Hungryland boardwalk. Total mileage will be about 9.5. Sunday 4/16

Day 5 will be one of the 3 most remote and wild sections we will cover. It will be 9.1 miles from the Corbett Hungryland Boardwalk parking to the trail crossing on South Grade. We will cross the wetlands, visit Bowmans Island campsite and pass through the beautiful Hole in the Wall. This is a day not to miss but you must be willing to drive on the dirt road in Corbett and it can be pretty bumpy. It has taken me about 40 minutes to drive the 11 miles to the trail crossing so you are forewarned. 4 wheel drive is not required, just dusty and bumpy.
Tuesday 4/18

Day 6 will be only 7.3 miles from Corbett South Grade to the Corbett/Dupuis border on Powerline Road. We will take a short break at the Little Gopher primitive campsite. Again this will require driving on some bumpy dirt roads again in Corbett and then 11.8 miles in Dupuis.
Thursday 4/20

Day 7 we will start at the Corbett/Dupuis border and hike 10.4 miles to Dupuis Grade. We will hike the little used Corbett Connector and visit loop 4 campsite for a break. We may go off trail for a look at the inside of a Cypress Dome.
Saturday 4/22

Day 8 and the final hike will be a short 5 miles from Dupuis Grade to the LOST Trailhead. We will visit the Cypress Boardwalk first and if everyone is looking for more mileage we could do a 2 mile off trail hike out to the loop 4 campsite and back adding 4 miles to the day total.
Sunday 4/23
