Dec 02 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Winter is upon us and its time to switch gears. This year we are staying on the SNF throughout the Winter. We will be working with the OSV Rangers. OHV Stands For Offroad Highway Vehicle and OSV Stands for Offroad Snow Vehicle. OSV Trails are 14 feet wide, 7 feet each side of the trail centerline. We will be working with Trail Saftey Issues, Wilderness Incursion Monitoring, Patrolling and public assistance.

This event will be to go over the OSV Side of things and to give you a chance to meet some of the awesome USFS folks who we will be working with. More to come on exact details, like what is required.

Information for NEW volunteers:

There is no cost to Volunteer or participate in our events. We don't charge money for our events. All of our training is free of charge and the Certifications are recognized by all most Forests in California.

To Operate a USFS Snowmobile you need to be certified to operate one. The ATV/UTV Training will get you the certification that you need.

To Operate a Chainsaw you need to be Chainsaw certified. The prerequisite for this class is to hold a valid Crosscut Card. A chainsaw can be provided if you ask in advance and a Pair of Chainsaw Chaps and 8" high Boots, and Leather Gloves are required. If you need to use chainsaw chaps I have two pairs I can lend out for the day.

Wilderness Corps recommends that everyone is certified in First Aid/CPR and for a Chainsaw Certification First Aid/CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens card are required.
