Dear Drawing New York Member,

You are invited to study oil painting with me at The Art Students League. December includes 5 sessions. We will work together in a few ways we have not yet had the opportunity to in our drawing classes. REGISTER HERE http://www.theartstudentsleague.org/class/oil-painting-life-understanding-painting/

Students will learn how to mix and use color, understand oil paint as a medium, paint from a live model and as always, continue to improve their drawing skills!

Do not be intimidated if you have never used oil paint before; this is the place to learn.

This class includes a live figure model and a full skeleton present at each session. Materials can be purchased at The Art Students League Store and each student will get a locker to leave their materials and paintings on site.

Please let me know if you have any questions that I might be able to help you with.

You can register here: http://www.theartstudentsleague.org/class/oil-painting-life-understanding-painting/

or by calling[masked]-4510.

Simon Levensons oil paintings are represented by Cavalier Fine Art Inc. in New York City; Greenwich, Connecticut; and Nantucket. He has been represented by Wally Findlay Gallery, and has shown at Grenning Gallery, Elaine Benson Gallery and Mast Cove Gallery. In 2011 his oil paintings were commissioned by the MTA Arts for Transit program and are permanently installed as large-scale murals for a New York City A train subway station. He has received a Puffin Foundation grant and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council grant. After early studies at the National Academy, Mr. Levenson received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, where he focused on fine art, philosophy, writing, and film. His studies continued at the Art Students League with Gustav Rehberger. He is an avid admirer of the anatomy lectures of Robert Beverly Hale. He is the founder of Drawing New York, a New York City based drawing group with over 5,000 members.
