Oak Camp , on the south side of Pine Mountain (26 mi north of Ojai), is located on a creek bank under a canopy of mature oak trees offering a beautiful wilderness feeling with plenty of quality campsites. The Chorro Canyon Trail meanders for about 1.6 mi. to our camp, passing thru an area recovering from a recent fire with expansive views of the Sespe watershed and its surrounding area. We will climb 540 feet at a moderate pace in less than 2 hours, stopping for rest breaks and photo shoots. After setting up camp, we will have lunch and do an optional day hike further up the Chorro Grande trail, passing thru unscathed forest, where we will have several destinations of varying difficulty to explore. We will return to camp by 4PM for social hour and dinner. We will break camp mid morning Sunday and be back to our trailhead, on CA Rte 33, before 1PM or so. Heavy rain cancels.
Participants must contact leader, Murray ([masked]) for more information and to preregister.
