Scouting will be available at the Western New York Nuclear Service Center beginning Saturday, September 16, 2017.NYSERDA will open up 1,500 acreas of the Center each day throughSunday, September 24, 2017, for scouting. Hunters must register individually for each day and area. If you are not registered in NYSERDA's 2017 archery program (i.e., filled out an application online), you must sign a scouting/tree stand removalrelease form prior to scouting on NYSERDA's property (https://www.nyserda.ny.gov/scouting-release-tree-stand-removal-form).This form must beemailed to the NYSERDA Deer Hunting Coordinator at Alita.Dueringer@nyserda.ny.govThis form must remain on your dashboard each day. A parent or guardian must also sign the release form on behalf of their minor child, and accompany them in the field for scouting. No minors under age 12 will be allowed in the field.
For accountability purposes, participating hunters must call the NYSERDA Deer Hunting Line at (716) 942-9960 extension 4990 upon leaving the woods each day, but no later than one hour after sunset. Participating hunters must also call Deer Hunting Line and leave a message if you do not plan to scout on a day that you are registered.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Junior hunters (aged 12-15) must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or mentor 18 years or older. Unlicensed minors age 12 and over may accompany a parent or guardian in the field as an observer. No minors under age 12 are allowed in the field.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
You must park and scout at the entry point for the area that you are registered in.
What can I bring into the event?
No ATVs or motorized vehicles are allowed on NYSERDA's property. Consumption of intoxicants (e.g., alcohol, marijuana before orduring hunting is prohibited. Anyone discovered under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be permanently removed from the program.
