Difficulty: Difficult Due to Altitude gain and Elevation. Directions:


Driving north on 41, enter the park and continue into Yosemite Valley. Take the junction to Big Oak Flat Rd 120 and head up out of the valley, continuing on 120 along Tioga Rd to May Lake turnout on the left side. If you reach Olmsted Point you went too far. An alternate route would be turning left on 49 in Oakhurst and following it to Mariposa, where you continue through town on 140 to enter the park via the El Portal gate. Then (before reaching the valley) turn left going up steeply on Big Oak Flat Road toward Tioga Rd. This route is slightly longer but less winding and with higher speed limits along the way making it slightly faster. Drive time is 3 hours I apologize for the early start time but it is a long drive. Assistance with vehicle expenses to be discussed with your driver, but $20.00 per person is suggested due to distance. Carpools are best arranged at the meetup site above because people frequently drop out at the last minute.

Description:
Mount Hoffmann is located near the geographic center of Yosemite National Park. On the way up we will pass by May Lake at the base of Mount Hoffman. Like so many of Yosemite's high lakes, May Lake rests at the base of striking granite cliffs. Distance approximately 6+ Miles round trip with a starting Elevation of 8700ft May Lake is at 9270ft and the top of Mount Hoffman is 10,847ft.
