We will be taking a slow to moderate pace.

We start the hike in front of the Ranger Station in the Mt Baldy Village. We hike through the Bear Flats Campground. The Bear Canyon Trail will lead us near West Baldy to our destination of Mt Baldy Peak.

Location of Starting Point of Hike

This is a very scenic trail with opportunities to take some great pictures.

We plan on taking a break at Mt Baldy Peak.

Following our break we make our way down the Devils Backbone to the Baldy Notch Restaurant. We will take a short break.

You have the option to hike down the 3 mile fire road back to the Manker Flats parking lot or you may take the Ski Lift down ($12 charge). If you take the Ski Lift its about a mile walk to the Manker Flats parking area.

Hikers please arrange to drive shuttle drivers back to their cars to Baldy Village across the street from the Baldy Lodge.
